Darling Diva Space Beetle/Pretty and Polished Sand Art

Is Darling Diva Space Beetle supposed to resemble Dollish Toxic Avenger?  From the swatches of Toxic Avenger I've seen online, it looks to have the same silver/beige/salmon multichrome flash as Space Beetle, as well as linear holo.  Correct me if I'm wrong, of course! :)
This is two coats of Space Beetle.  It dried quickly and shiny, but unfortunately I painted my nails before bed and woke up with the dreaded sheet marks.  One coat of Seche fixed that.  I decided to jazz up my ring fingers with two coats of Pretty and Polished Sand Art - tiny yellow, green, blue, pink and purple matte glitter in a clear base.  Floam's long lost cousin. :)  I think Sand Art would definitely look best over a contrasting creme that would show off all the glitter colours.
Too much? Just right?

a England Tristam/Lynnderella Mercury's Rainbow

First off ~ part of my Lynnderella wishlist order has arrived, after months of waiting!!  I really hope they were worth the wait!  ;)
Of course, I had to immediately try one of the polishes.  Mercury's Rainbow was my first Lynnderella lemming, so I decided to go with that.  I wasn't sure what base to use, but a England Tristam caught my eye.  I painted two easy, quick-drying coats of Tristam and loved it!  While I was putting it on, it leaned purple, but after the polish dried, it leaned blue.  I also painted two coats of MR and while the smell left something to be desired, it also dried fairly quickly.

Unfortunately, I don't think that Tristam is the best underwear for MR, as both of the polishes have a holo shimmer base; they fight rather than complement each other.  A creme would have worked much better, methinks.  Both beautiful polishes, but not together!

Candeo Jellybean

Normally I am not fond of yellow polish (this is my first!), but there is just something about Candeo Jellybean that I love.  Maybe it's the creamy yellow jelly base that doesn't totally clash with my skin, or maybe it's the gorgeous pink, purple, blue, yellow, and green glitter in various sizes.  Maybe it's just that it's so unique in my stash that I have to love it!  I originally bought this months ago and after swatching one nail, it seemed so thick and opaque and not at all jellyish like it was supposed to be (maybe I didn't shake it enough?).  I swapped it to someone who really wanted it.  Well, I was able to snag another bottle and this one is nice and jellyish.  My disappointment turned into excitement at the prospect of owning Jellybean.  I'm still not quite sure that yellow is the best colour for me, but it is a beautiful concoction!
This mani is three coats and one coat of Cult Nails Wicked Fast.  I might use nude underwear next time, as I don't have any yellow undies! ;)
The glitter dispersed nice and evenly and I didn't have to fish for the hexes! Yay!
Ain't she a beauty?

Essie Lights

Let me preface this post with: neons are impossible to photograph!
I tried many different angles in different lighting conditions and this picture is the best I could come up with.  The colour is definitely more electric in person, believe me.
A better representation of the neon pink in Lights would be (taken from this webpage):
Application of Lights was good.  The two coats dried fairly quickly and to a matte sheen, as neons are wont to do.  I used one coat of Seche, went out in the sun and was blinded by its bright beauty.
I definitely want to get Camera, a coral/red neon and Bazooka, a coral/orange neon.  Action is, I think, fairly similar to China Glaze Papaya Punch, which I already have. :)
Enjoy the beautiful weather, ladies!

Fixation Polish Poppy

This is going to be a short post, as I've had a trying day/night with my two kiddies.  One was whiny and clingy and the other was super hyper and shrieking.  Now I wonder how I am going to do with three!?  :(
I'm not sure if Fixation Poppy is a good colour for me.  I love the salmon colour in the bottle and on jewelry and clothing, but it seems to match my skin too closely, even though it is actually a bit darker than the picture shows.  Also, I'm not one for gold glitter.  Why do I keep buying polishes with gold glitter in them, then?  I just don't know!  :)
Application was great ~ two easy coats and one coat of Diamont.  Note that none of the flower glitter in the bottle made it onto my fingers!
One thing I was disappointed in was the bottle.  It was not closed tightly enough before shipping and so when I opened it, the ridges had polish all over them.  That wouldn't have been a pretty sight if the cap had been a bit looser...

Happy Mother's Day!

I have no polish on my nails today (!), so I just want to say Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers out there!
I hope your kiddies bring you as much joy as you bring them! :)
Here are my two babies.  They can be a challenge, but I love them sooo much!

Elixir Lacquer Bad Kitty

Here she is ~ the one, the only, the infamous Elixir Bad Kitty.  Yes, I know my nails are super short right now, but I just couldn't wait to try this polish.  I like wearing lighter colours when my nails are short so that I don't draw too much attention to my  hands!  :)
I used two coats of this beautiful lilac and teal shimmer polish*.  It is very sheer, so had I had longer nails, I probably would have needed three or four coats of polish (or underwear) to cover the white part of my nails.  There are a few brush strokes unfortunately, so it makes this polish almost, but not quite perfect.  Enough rambling; onto the mani:
I think this colour would really pop over various dark purples, blues and greys; what do you think?
* The Bad Kitty swatch on the Elixir website is much darker than the polish is in real life...

Whimsical Ideas by Pam Kismet's Pajamas

Hi ladies (I'm not stereotyping; all 12 of my followers are women)!  Maybe you can help me out with this one.  I'm not sure if this polish brand is Whimsical Ideas by Pam or just Whimsical Ideas.  I'll just use the acronym WIP for now and once I know what it is, I will use the correct name!  Good compromise? ;)
Kismet's Pajamas is a pretty black jelly polish festooned (love that word!) with tiny and large silver and pink glitter.  It applied nicely for a glitter; I had (mostly) complete coverage in two coats!  I used one coat of Seche, but if I was really hardcore about the polish being completely smooth, I would use two coats.  Unfortunately, I had tipwear and chips within a few hours.  :(
I'm not sure if it was the Seche or the polish.  To be fair, though, I'll try this polish again with a coat of black polish as the base and Diamont as the topcoat. Hopefully it will last a bit longer.

Is this polish on your wishlist?

Dollish Polish Zombie Flesh

This would be the perfect polish (for me!) if application was a bit less patchy!  Otherwise, Zombie Flesh is a wonderful olive green shimmer loaded with tiny gold, green and black glitter and a few bigger black hexes.  I'm not even a gold person and the gold is great in this polish.  :)
I painted three semi-thick coats here, mostly to cover up some random bald spots.  The polish itself was a bit thick, but nothing thinner can't fix.  To preserve the polish next time, I'll definitely be layering one or two thin coats over underwear, maybe Essie Sew Psyched?
Overall, a definite keeper for my indie stash!

China Glaze Fuschia Fanatic/Max Factor Fantasy Fire

I've had China Glaze Fuschia Fanatic for months and I'm only trying it now! ;)  I just felt like I needed a bright creme after all the glitter I've been sporting lately.  FF did not disappoint, applying nicely in two coats.  I used Max Factor Fantasy Fire as the accent finger and it is gorgeous, but a PITA to apply.  I think this was 4 or 5 coats here, and still a tad sheer.  Oh well. I love how CG FF complements the shimmer in MF FF.

After wearing this for a bit, I decided I wanted to try out an indie (almost) equivalent to FF - Paanduuh CCXXX.  This polish is more lilac than the violet of FF, but they both share the same duochrome shimmer.
Well, I was pretty disappointed.  As you can see in the following picture, you can barely see the shimmer on top of FF.  :(
Not only could you barely see the shimmer, the polish was pricey, the maker took forever to make and ship this one tiny bottle of polish, blamed her studies (fine, I understand you are busy, but write that on your site, then!), and then shipped the polish with a wonky brush.  I received the replacement in much better time, fortunately.  I personally wouldn't buy a Paanduuh polish again, but that is just me.  Maybe you have had/will have a better experience.  Behold the disappointing CCXXX:

Up next...Glitter Gal!!

Pretty and Polished Rainbow Sparkle

Another gorgeous creation from Pretty and Polished!  So far, my fave indie polish is P&P's Born Again and this is a very close second!  Rainbow Sparkles has a beautiful azure base peppered with various colours and sizes of hexagons.  The hexes show through the lightly shimmery base and the base just glows.  I painted two coats  and then dabbed on a bit near some of my cuticles, but three coats or two coats and underwear should suffice!
I love it so much; there's not much else to say (except that my photo is inaccurate; the blue is a bit deeper and more vibrant).

Cover Band Sticks and Stones/Aphrodite Mai Tai

Quick post for tonight ~ watching Mad Men with the hubby!  :)
I wanted a simple indie polish and this one caught my eye - a red jelly with tiny silver glitter and small red hexagons.  Two careful coats would have worked, but I was sloppy, so I ended up doing two coats, one of Diamont, one more coat of Mai Tai and then one more coat of Diamont.  Five coats already!

I love red polish, but I decided to spruce it up with Sticks and Stones.  One coat covers very generously and I personally think less is more when it comes to glitter top coats.  I had to clip a few of the bar glitters with my nail clippers and even with two coats of topcoat, there was still a lot of texture!  Eight coats = mani fail!!  :(

I think I'll be selling Cover Band.  Just not my thing....
